Freshley’s Grocery Store will have a relatively simple operations plan.
- Dan and Jan Walters will be operating the store themselves. They plan on working all 7 days of the week that the store will be open until stabilization and in three months, they plan to work 6 or the 7 days of the week. They will be in charge of inventory, ordering, payroll and managing the staff. They will also be communicating with the farmers and distributors to ensure that all products are delivered on time and as scheduled.
- 6 – 8 part time hourly employees to assist with stocking, inventory, merchandise display, and customer service.
- One of the part time hourly employees will eventually be appointed as a Supervisor and will assist in managing the employees and oversee the store on the day that Dan and Jan will not be working.
- Dan and Jan will hire a third party accounting firm to handle all bookkeeping, payroll, tax payments, and permitting.
Freshley’s Grocery Store will have the following milestones complete in the next six months.
6/1/202X – Finalize lease agreement for grocery store retail location
6/15/202X – Begin build out of leased space
7/1/202X – First round of print ads go out
7/10/202X – Two billboards go up
8/1/202X – Final walk through and approval of built out grocery space
8/15/202X – First shipment of inventory arrives
8/16/202X – Stocking and display of inventory in anticipation of the Grand Opening
9/1/202X – Grand Opening of Freshley’s Grocery Store
