Tropical Smoothie Cafe

Tropical Smoothie Cafe has been making and serving fresh food and smoothies for as long as they can remember. In 1993, even before they opened their first Cafe, they served fresh fruit smoothies from a stand on a Florida beach. They’ve come a long way since then, but we’ve remained true to our early days of pure, wholesome food.

In 1997, Tropical Smoothie Cafe opened their first franchise in Tallahassee, Florida to give their customers a place to sit and relax while enjoying fruit smoothies. By 1999, they added a wide range of wholesome food options to the menu that perfectly complemented the smoothies. One year later, they officially established the Tropical Smoothie Cafe name.

In 2007, Tropical Smoothie Cafe celebrated their 10 year anniversary and started their own holiday, National Flip Flop Day. On National Flip Flop Day, they raise funds to benefit Camp Sunshine and customers who visit the Cafes wearing flip flops between 2pm – 7pm receive a FREE smoothie. It’s a great day to bring on the sunshine in the lives of children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.

Today, there are over 700 franchise locations in more than 44 states and customers continue to fall in love with Tropical Smoothie Cafe as a destination for flavor. They have always been guided by this one simple belief: when you eat better, you feel better and when you feel better – all is better. It’s why their mission is to inspire a healthier lifestyle by serving amazing food and smoothies with a bit of tropical fun.
